Random stuff...

So, as you can see I just haven't posted anything for a while. Guess I just haven't been that inspired to put pencil to paper, trying to get back into it now. So for the time being here's a page of a bunch of random stuff from my sketchbook. Its funny I've noticed I draw alot of frankenstein heads when I'm bored, skulls too. Also the Martian war machine from the George Pal War of the Worlds shows up from time to time.

Famous Monsters

Just felt like drawing two of my favorite monsters of the Universal Monster Clan.

Frankenstein and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Again these were done while commuting in to work.

Attack of the Gestures

Since I ride transit to work on a daily basis I figured I'd occassionally try doing some life drawing, gestural type drawings of the people I'm riding with these drawings have all been done while either waiting or riding on the various forms of transit. Most of them drawn with a 0.3 Copic Multiliner in a little Moleskine book I picked up for the express purpose of doing this.

Harold....

Not much to say about this. Didn't really feel that creative the last couple of days. Harold here really sums up what I've been thinking.

Capt. Christopher "Bumper Car" Pike

I just felt like drawing some Star Trek fan art, so I drew the first captain of the Enterprise, in the fantastic wheel chair they gave him after he was hideously crippled.

Why don't more people do fan art of Captain Pike? its such a hilarious looking character.

At least they made a christmas tree ornament outta him. Although why anyone would want a hideously scarred crippled space man who can only answer questions by flashing a light on his wheelchair is anyone's guess.

Calabrese, They Call Us Death

Hey looky there on the left. See that Frankenstein girl with the axe and the severed heads? Yeah, that's the one. What you're seeing there is a sneak peek at one of the bits of art I did for Calabrese's most recent album, They Call Us Death. Go check out their website http://www.calabreserock.com I think there's links and stuff so you can hear some of their music and buy some of their merchandise and stuff. Anyway I had a lot of fun drawing this thing. Its one of the first times in a long time I decided to use some real ink wash technique with my art instead of being mostly digital. I did end up colorizing it in photoshop for the final version on the CD packaging. I like how it turned out so I figured I'd post it here (and they gave me permission to let people see it before the album comes out.

THE END

The Invaders ...

... A Quinn Martin Production.

I've been watching this show alot lately (almost finished the second season.) Its about an architect who sees a flying saucer and spends the rest of the series trying to convince people aliens are here preparing to take over the earth. Its a ton of fun, if you're a fan of the current crop of paranoid sci-fi tv shows like Fringe you should probably dig around and get a look at invaders. hopefully someone will get around to releasing the 90's miniseries that fox did that was a continuation of this series.
